Well, I've got the day off and I am on my way out the door to pick up the whole package for Rock Band. Anyone else doing the same today? I am pretty excited for it. Should be a lot of fun. I am mostly looking forward to playing the drums.

There is already quite a bit of downloadable content on Xbox Live for it.

Just played for about an hour. Yeah, its hella fun. The guitar bundled sucks. I went back to using the wirless guitar from GH3. The drums are hard. Its totally different. I thought they were going to be a lot easier. I can barely get through songs on medium with the drum.

I had a blast demoing the drums at Best Buy. I actually have to give the edge to them over playing guitar on GH. Maybe I just like to bang on things.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

I bought this last night and played for a couple hours on drums. Very fun. I was having some issues getting the right hand and right foot to work together lol. Got it for $129 sale price at American TV where I work, cheaper than my employee discount. I don't know if it's that price at other locations besides Des Moines, but it doesn't hurt to check if you are near one of the other stores.

Don't own it myself yet however, two of my friends have it and I have played a good few hours on it. Certainly a whole lot of fun especially with four players.

that's a great deal, fs! I can't find a single copy around here, let alone at that price. Anymore copy in your store?

ps: is this for XBOX 360?
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

Is it worth to own RB AND GH3 both?

We bought GH3 for the kid Christmas present, so RB would complement or duplicate?

Definitely get both. More songs, but adding the drumming (and I assume vocals, haven't tried yet) makes it a really different game. I haven't had my friends over yet, but I can see Rock Band being better for gatherings/family events.

I see. I guess getting both is an option, and lose the use of my system for a while, until they get tired of the band. :)

    thanks guys!

Been playing GH3 since last week, bought Rock Band today and must say its a very good title, if you like GH3 then you'll love RB. Graphis are very good and the soundtracks sound awesome. I agree RB is better. Both are a must, this stuff is addicting.

I obviously have no rhythm because I can't get past Green Grass and High Tides on medium.

I keep failing at about the 85-90%.

I practically have the first half of the song memorized.

This is on drums of course.

I have noticed once that kick drum starts to come in heavy I start losing my rhythm. One of my friends is a really good drummer and he absolutely demolishes tracks on expert. I am very jealous.

I finally beat Green Grass and High Tides on Medium with the drums! I swear I was 99.999999% to failing when I saw the end!!!!!! I think I ended wiht 88% and 4 stars. Holy crap that is the most tiring song. You need about 2 hours inbetween attempts just to rest! :D I was getting so mad as I was doing so well through about 98% of the song then I just couldn't keep going, but somehow I hit enough to get me through. I'm not sure I even want to play on hard after this...

I jumped right into drums on medium and/or hard on band world tour mode. So much fun! Albeit I already had pretty good separation control between my right foot and hands.

I recommend all who buy this game check out the forums on the rock band website to see the mods people are doing to the guitars and drums. I already fixed my guitar myself and re-enforced the bass pedal after it started to crack ***YOURS WILL CRaCK!*** They all will ;) Also padding the inside sensor on the red pad really does help for quick pick-ups on rolls.

I don't know if I like this game more than GHIII though. Multiplayer (mixed with drinking) Is insane fun, but I think I still prefer GHIII for solo play.

Is there certain thread you looked at for those mods? If so could you post a link?

Yeah, my drum pedal also cracked, had to get it replaced through Harmonix. It ended up being a pretty painless process - filled out a form online, they sent me a box with a new pedal in it and I was supposed to send back the broken pedal (or else my credit card would be charged, I believe). Took about 4 days for me to get a new pedal after filling out the form online, so not too bad.

But I am also interested in seeing the link to those forums for reinforcing the pedal so I never have to go 4 days without Rock Band again!

I don't even care for these types of games and I'd say it's worth it. It's especially great for groups.
