A friend just bought (2) of these one from Pacific Valve with their mods and one off E-bay which he modded himself. New caps (Hovland), input/output wiring, and cardas connectors. Tesla tubes at about $50 a piece.

Last night he loaned me the one he modded and I have to say while I only have an hour or so listening time this Chinese made unit sounds pretty good so far. I will have it for the next couple of weeks and will be comparing it to my SS Adcom.

Those that know of these or own one please chime in with your thoughts, especially if you've done some comparisons.

I might be able to buy one of the two from him, maybe. Even new they are only around $470-550 depedning on if you want their mods or not. I had my eye on a Monarchy but these are about 1/2 the cost.

Next up I'll be borrowing the other Lite 60 modded by Pacific Valve and comparing the 2 to each other.

Plus more comments to come once I have more time to sit and listen.

It's about time you got something with tubes in it over there :p

Look forward to your thoughts once you've had time to do the comparison.

I've heard the unmooded DAC 60's, and I think they would benefit greatly from being modded. Your friend's modded 60 should smoke the Pacific Valve modded version.

    ****Update****

Have had a **** of a sinus infection since Thursday and the rig sounds like crap. Hopefully by this weekend when the meds are done (Amoxicillin) I'll be able to comment furthur. Been outta commission for a few days.
