Well it finally hit home...

After getting to work today at 7:50 a.m., I proceeded to head to my department, then at 8:30 we were called to surgery to help assist with a proceedure, not ten minutes later shots were fired across the hall from my department and three nursing professors were killed and the gunman took himself out. (Despite reports, the college of nursing is basically in the hospital, not in an "entirely" seperate area)

We did not find out until about an hour later, because we could not hear the overhead pages, during that time they shut off all in coming and outgoing calls (until after 1 pm) So we were not able to inform our loved ones on who was alright. Plus we were not able to leave the area, basically they shut the whole hospital down. Never seen that before. Never want to either.

Any way some very upset nurses naturally since most of the victims were known. I did know one of them. (Robin Rogers) You find it so strange to be talking with someone (as I did last Friday) and Monday morning they die sitting doing there jobs.

Just have to say that some people suck, and it sickens me that they have to literally ruin other peoples lives because they are so miserable themselves.

Sorry to hear about that. Some people suck but the rest make life worth living. Just keep in mind that the people who suck are the minority.
As Frank Z says, hang in there. Don't try to make sense of it because it doesn't. The best you can do is help the nice people out. Again, sorry to hear this.

Wow. I hope that your place of work offers some PTSS counseling, and that you can keep talking about it with friends and family.

Hang in there, do something special for Thanksgiving with your family.

And if you're twisted like me, find out where they bury that motherphukker, and pi$$ on his grave. I'd consider that highly therapeutic.

I knew this would happen. I know this forum stretches far and wide. It's only a matter of time before one of these atrocities takes place in one of our presence.
I agree with rlw, although mine is more direct. A 3 am road trip to his grave with a sledgehammer will leave a nice mark on his tombstone.

it does suck...the sad part is you hope these morons kill themsleves when they are done because if they dont they will get off or get 3 square meals for life on the taxpayers tab..
