Okay...

Iam using the 6.5 momo`s in the door, and wanted to use these for the rear pillars;

http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?g=51400&i=107DB461P&search=Polk+Audio+VENDORID107&searchdisplay=Polk+Audio&tp=100

Is this going to be a problem ?
momo doesn`t have a 4x6....do they ?

I`m using the 400.4

I thought about using the 300.2 for the doors, and letting the HU do the rears....

whaddaya think ?

Where are your rear pillars located? Do you have a unit with time alignment? While I usually do not recommend using HU power alongside with nice outboard amplifier power, in this case it may work.

When I use rear fill, I have the rear speakers attenuated by a good amount, as well delayed by at least 5ms. This effect gives the impression that you are listening to the music in a larger listening environment. The way I explain it is, that you can't really tell that they are even on until you totally turn them off.

Give it a shot, if things don't sound right you could always pick up a small two channel for them.

    It`s a `98 chevy truck...standard cab

I just wanted to see if they would "mate" well with the momo`s..

I am ordering the Alpine 9887 w/ the imprint add-on

If I could get the 4x6 momo`s (if they still have them), I would try to make them work

Nice choice on the HU there. Let us know how things go with the imprint kit.

Crutchfield said that only 5 1/4" speakers fit in my rear doors. I busted out my left over MDF sheet and made some mounts, now I have my 6 3/4" SL's back there :). I had to do the same for my front doors as the Rainbow's were too big for the 6 1/2" OEM mounts.

So should I just go for the momo 4x6`s and make them fit, or will the db`s be good enough ?

I see that they have the buy 1 , get 1 for half price, so I will probably get both and see which one works best..

I ordered a new carpet kit for the truck, and will be gettiong some new buckets soon...

The truck is in for a new look and sound.....it`s a project, but I spend most of my time commuting in the truck or car (which is still in progress), and need good sound.

My rig at home sounds great, and if my commute doesn`t match the sound quality as closely as possible to the home rig, it just makes me want to turn it off !!

I would give it a shot and see if you could make them fit with some minor modifications. If not, the DB's should sound fine.

i'd definitely use the c400.4 for all 4 speakers instead of the c300.2 for the front and the HU for the rear. Or better yet, don't get rear speakers and bi-amp the 6.5" momos using the pre-eq feature on the c400
