I have a PSW 650 connected to a Pioneer Elite VSX-55txi. While in the system setup of the receiver and sending out a test signal to the sub I get the typical low rumble of the sub, but when watching movies i do not hear any bass like I should. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem might be?
Thanks

I hooked up a cd player directly to the L and R inputs on the sub and the sub did produce basss, so It seems to be something with the POS Pioneer receiver. Is there any other way to hook up the sub to the receiver without using the subout jack? Using some of the amp-preout jacks instead?
    Thanks

I just did another test...I hooked the sub up te alternate way. I went from the front speaker out on the receiver to the speaker in on the sub and from the speaker out on the sub to the front speaker and changed the speakers to large in the menu and the sub to plus. I now get bass out of the sub. It is looking more and more like the sub out on the receiver has something fishy going on with it. I have not had good luck with Pioneer receivers.

Does Dolby Digital or DTS light up when you put on a DVD? Is the sub level turned way down in the AVR?

I have a Pioneer receiver, here are some quick recommendations:
Make sure you have LFE out on the Pioneer going to the LFE in on the Polk, make sure the volume on the sub is not turned all the way down to 0. Set the crossover to 80hz (or higher based on capabilities of your front speakers), make sure subwoofer is enabled in the speaker settings. Setting the speakers to Large will not redirect the bass to the LFE channel for DD or DTS 5.1 material, setting the sub to PLUS will send bass signals from Front and Left channels to the sub when in stereo mode. If using the multi-channel inputs, make sure to enable the +10 Subwoofer setting.
