Is slow loading normal in beginning on a 1080p upconversion?

It is a great DVD player, but when you turn it takes forever.

should i take it back and get a hd-dvd player.

How much difference will it make on a 720 tv?

It is a 1080p upconversion Samsung? Great DVD player after the slow start up. I am going to wait on HD-DVD for a while. I had it then my house burned down.

an hd dvd player wont be any faster. any of these new players that will utilize firmware updates are more like computers and have a boot up time.

I've heard that the Xa2 is a lot better about boot time than the A2, and that the A20 is an improvement over the A2 as well, so I think they are getting better about that....The A20 is $169 at Cosco here in Minnesota....You really can't lose at that price.
