My sis just scored free tix to the Mellencamp/Los Lobos concert tonight:D
Has anyone else seen him this year? Any good?

    I dunno, but if I hear "This is ouuuuurrrrrrrrr cuuuunnnntrryyy" one more time I'm going to put my eardrums out with a nail gun and then scratch my eyes out with a rusty spoon.......God I hate that man and his "cashing in on American pride" songs.

    saw him about 10 years ago at Starplex, then Coca-Cola, now Smirnoff in Dallas. Good concert, but don't remember much besides the smell of second hand marijuana and spending most of the concert trying to get adults to buy me beer.

    should be a good concert.. esp better that it's free!

    Mellencamp? Personally, if they are not paying all expenses as well, I'd skip it.

    Not a bad show. He was sick(he told you,and you could tell) but it was still a pretty high energy concert. His voice was still pretty good for an old ****. The back-up singers hit some of the notes he couldn't anymore but he still did most of the singing. The band hit on all cylinders and was impressive.
    All in all not the best but still a quality show. Would I have paid $60? No.

    i've seem him two times... not a bad show.

    he just canceled a show that my mom wanted to go to. luckily she already had sammy hagar tickets for that same night. lol

    Sammy puts on a good show.
    My equipment sig felt inadequate and deleted itself.

    John Mellencamp - Lonesome Jubilee on vinyl is an amazing pop/rock album, and very well recorded. The CD of it doesn't do it justice.. this album should be listened to on vinyl only ;)

    I saw him pre heart attack. We went to see Heart who were headlining yet Mellencamp pwned. Next days entertainment section of the Sacramento Bee gave Heart a couple paragraphs, a tiny picture, John Cougar(heh)on the other hand got the royal court treatment, a 1/2 page article and huge picture. He really did put on an entertaining and VERY high energy show.
    The next time he played Sacramento alone, the show was almost three hours. He took two 10 minute cigarette breaks where he walked and talked with the audience. I guess he's very politically outspoken now so that may add or detract from the show depending on your own feelings.
