I wanted to list this component set but I can't find the correct part or model number. All it says is Polk MM6 6.5 Component System.

I bought it about a year ago. What is the proper way to identify this set?

    MM6

It's Momo "Classic"- the first ever Momo component sets from '99- '00 were the MM465 & 455. The slightly udated version was the MM6. It's an oversized 6.5" mid, same tweets, and silver crossovers, right?

Thank you... the 6.75 dimension threw me, but that also explains why I couldn't get it to fit. An installer said a 6.5" would fit in the spot, but no way this one would go.

Thanks a lot for the info.

Yeah, the good ol' MM6. You're wanting to sell them? How much are you looking to get for them?

I LOVE those speakers. I ran a set for a couple years before I got my SR's and thought they just ruled!

Built like a sub and could take tons of power. They could be a bit bright if straight wired, but bi-amp them and do some tweaking and they sound awesome.

Ive since retired mine but will always have them as I have one of the mids autographed by Matt Polk, Paul Dicomo and Jim Herd.

Thanks for the link. I don't think I wanna mess with installing new speakers right now, though.

    Good luck!

I know the feeling. I procrastinated on installing these, and thought I'd better get them in before winter set in up here in MN. Oh well.

It's funny, I bought those same speakers and had to re sell them as they did not fit my car either. They should have been called MM6.75

I ended up getting some Alpine SPX177r which have been pretty good too, they will do until I can fork some SR's.

Does anyone know the size of the SR6500's though? I would hate buying those not to be able to install them.

If I remember right, Crutchfield classifies the SR6500s as a 6.75" speaker (because they're a bit oversize for a 6.5). I bought a pair to replace some db650s and I would have had to enlarge the cutout considerably...that wasn't the problem though, depth was. I exchanged them for the SR5250s and all fits. Measure your cutout diameter, and depth available to compare aginst the Polk specs and you should be OK.
