Is this a combo choice of speakers
i'm using an onkyo tx-sr600 and the speakers I am planning on using for the front channel is the RTI 4 or RTI 6. For the center channel the CSI 3 or CSI 5. For the rear surround the TCI 620 or TCI 60. For the sub PSW 404. Is this a good combination?
Any comments on this would be greatly appreciated

I'd go with the 6's and the CSI 5 for the center. You might want to look elsawhere for the sub. Here's a couple links for subs:

I agree with GZ....go with the RTi6/CSi5. The rears are just fine.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -
Any recomendation of a paticular sub in the same price range thanks

For $350 this should be a good sub. I find the Ed subs kind of ugly but they are supposed to work really well. If you can live with performance over looks - it may be a good choice.
Is that what you were thinking for a budget, or to high/low?
This is the same price - not sure of the differences though - may be worth a call before you purchase.Mains.............Polk LSi15 (Cherry)
Center............Polk LSiC (Crossover upgraded)
Surrounds.......Polk LSi7 (Gloss Black - wood sides removed and crossovers upgraded)
Subwoofers.....SVS 25-31 CS+ and PC+ (both 20hz tune)
Pre\Pro...........NAD T163 (Modded with LM4562 opamps)

Is a front firing sub better than a bottom firing

How big of a room are we talking? (include other rooms if they cannot be shut off with a door or something.) How many cubic feet? (length * width * height) Will make a big difference on the sub recommended.Mains.............Polk LSi15 (Cherry)

the room is 12'x36' with 1 doorway

and the hieght is about 8'

Pretty big room - I would look for a larger sub than a 10" if you can. Better to make the right purchase once (even if it is later) than purchase now and again in 6 months cuz your not happy with it...Mains.............Polk LSi15 (Cherry)

Go for a12" top or bottom firing?
-
for the sound doesn't really matter, but if you are in an apartment, downfiring may sound the same for you, but be worse for your neighbors.
(My subs are downfiring and I have not had any issues with them. I would have purchased front firing with no worries as well...)Mains.............Polk LSi15 (Cherry)

does carpeting come into play in chosing a front or bottm firing sub

Don't worry about front vs bottom....it's a non-issue here.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
