    How do "world" finals happen, just out of curiosity?
    CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

    World finals is a 2 day event and the last and biggest shin dig of the competition season and what the serious competitors spend the entire season getting ready for. There are 4 sound off oraganizations. MECA, IASCA USACi and DBdrag (which is all SPL) and they all have their own world finals.

    MECA rents out a big fairgrounds or some such place (this year its at Nashville fairgrounds) and both the sound quality guys and the ground pouders (SPL) come from all over. The vast majority of competitors at the other shows thruout the season are usually from the particular area of the show. The State finals draw in guys from greater distance as theyre a bigger show but world finals has everybody.

    MECA is an international organization with shows held in China, UK and South America (or some place south of the border). World finals is open to them as well but the obvious expense of hauling a car overseas on a cargo ship means that there will only be American cars at the world finals.

    IASCA finals last year had a car from Thailand, and it won just about everything it entered!

    MECA's SQ finals has 3 judges. They each judge your car one at a time and then you get the average of their 3 scores. This is the fairest and most accurate way and helps eliminate any bias.

    They also have a big banquet on Saturday night where they hand out various awards like state championship, rookie of the year and all that.

    I wasnt when there were only 2 other guys signed up but now that James is in Im sweating. I think its a toss up between me and him but with him having Jeff Smith at his disposal, that could be a problem. If Adam makes it, that wont help either! :D

    You aint got no walk in the park either. Extreme is very stiff this year.
