So, I have the XBOX 360 20gb version w/ two games ($350), but Sony just dropped the price of the PS3 40gb version w/ one game to $400. Should I return the XBOX 360 and get the PS3?
Do you hear that buzzing noise?

If you're using them for gaming... no. The Xbox has so many more games than the PS3 it's not even funny, and that's not going to change anytime soon.

If you're using it for more than that, than maybe. Having the Blu-Ray would be nice. Beyond that, seems much more worht it from a gaming perspective to have the 360.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Keep em both, then you won't have to worry about the "so-called" format wars between HD DVD and BR.

I think he still needs the $179 hd-dvd add-on to not worry about the HD disk content. But he's probably better off buying a cheap toshiba player at their next close-out sale in any case as they are cheaper with more features when the price is right.

    +1

Check out the available games for both and you'll see a lot more selection now for the 360. You can probably wait 'till Spring or even later for some of the better exclusive games to come out. But the ps3 gives you more audio and video options as a blu-ray player even if you buy the 360 add-on. You do need the outboard equipment to appreciate them all, though...

Sony has 100 games comming out for the XMAS season. Nows the time to buy the PS3 if you can. I see no reason to trade in an Xbox right now for a PS3 at all though... Unless you want BR.

    keep your 360..

No real games for the PS3, unless you count the 6 hour heavenly sword and 12 hour ratchet and clank.

I vote that you wait till they include a rumble capable controller with the ps3.

ALso as for games any multi platform games are for both systems so those games should not be considered as a reason to have 1 system or the other.

    But exclusives..

Gears of War, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Halo 3, etc...

Go take a look at gamerankings.com:

I swear to God I am tempted to buy a PS3 just to play Ratchet and Clank. I NEVER play video games (my PS2 has been collecting dust for over a year now, and before that was really only used for the occasional Madden playing with friends) but that game can suck me in for HOURS.

Dont get me wrong ratchet and clank is a damn good game.. but I need more than 2 or 3 games to get one..

I am just waiting for a 40gb version with a rumble controller and that is the day I will get a ps3.

I purchased a ps3 at launch and sold it within a month cause i knew it would just collect dust.

360 has more games for now. but the PS3 can so so much more with out having to buy add on's like the 360. Also now with the 2.0 firmware update if you have a PSP and you have it updated you can remote play the PS3 on the PSP anywhere in the world because you can now remote turn on the ps3 Via the psp if you have a WiFi connection for the PSP.
Microsoft will never in my mind be as good as the PS3. I cant wait till next week with Assassins Creed comes out! that frigging game looks awsum!

I just bought a 360 to add to my PS3..... the games seem like they will be very fun. However, I tried the music feature against the PS3, and the PS3 absolutely SMOKES the 360 audio wise... I could not believe how much better it sounded!

The PS3 is definately a higher end piece of AV equipment. It is my exclusive BD player, and I am putting all my music on it. It really does sound great, and the Bluray is fantastic.

I got the 360 though mainly for Forza2, PGR4, Halo3, and any other catelogue games I can get for my kid. Game selection is definately better on the 360 right now, but that may change in the future.

So, I guess I am kinda format neutral!

I love both consoles,I think of them this way: The 360 is a brute, not much finesse but powerful none the less, with the ability to surprise you.The PS3 is the movie star, very versatile, sexy and polished.I'll keep both because as far as entertainment goes in gaming or movie watching you can't beat this team. You'll thank yourself for keeping them.

I have a ton of games and have gotten a lot of enjoyment out of my 360 however now I have been using my PS3 a bunch more because of the chronic issues I am having with it. Bar none the most unreliable electronic device I have ever owned by a long shot. Currently I am waiting for a "supervisor" at the "repair center" to give me a call because my case has been "elevated".

The last system I got from the "repair center" lasted almost exactly two weeks which was my 5th system. Needless to say that is completely unacceptable. The one I have right now I didn't even get 5 minutes into a game before I started getting all this garbage on the screen and eventually it wouldn't display anything at all. FRESH out of the box from the "repair center"! I immediately called up "tech support" and told them the problem. They asked me if I was experiencing the red ring failure and at that point I was not. Sure enough a few minutes later I try to fire it up again and while I am on hold BAM the trusty old red lights. This all happened within 15 minutes of getting my SIXTH console back from "repair". I was absolutely livid when my last one only worked for two weeks before it failed and I got every free game they offered because of it but instead of things getting better they get progressively worse. Next one I receive will probably disintegrate right before my eyes when I pull it out of its box.

The thing that makes me so mad is that I have the HD DVD addon and use it as an HD DVD player and I also have a lot of games and many of my friends own the system as well so I love being able to play online. At the same time it is the most frustrating product I have ever owned and I hope all these issues turn developers away from developing on the next reiteration of the Xbox as a base.
