DIY Workshop/Workbench - How do you DIY?

So today got me thinking after my incident of anger in my workshop/workbench area when I couldn't find a tool cause I had everything piled a mile high. I spent the day cleaning my workbench area, got everything organized and finally found the tool I was looking for. There were numerous other tools that could have done the job but I had to find THAT one cause it's my favorite.

So, that being said, this thread is dedicated to posting pics of your workshop/workbench area or where you do all your DIY work. I'm hoping this gives some of us ideas for better storage, workspace, and tool ideas to make all our projects easy and fun. Nothing is worse than getting involved in a project and it causes more aggression than it's worth.

Pics attached, I know it's not much space but I also have an old folding table I use for the bigger stuff.

I have a full range of air tools, sanders, a mig welder, sawzall, and other goodies at my disposal. Soon I think I am going to have to start putting a lock on my tools since my Dad is getting in the habit of grabbing stuff out of my box and adding it to his work toolbag. A couple years ago I got phone call from my aunt saying that her friend, who I also knew, husband had died and because they had no children of their own she wanted me to have all his tools. Thus, about 75% of my hand tools, some power sanders, and my vice came from that.

If you can imagine, that brown box on the workspace area....the tools/crap were piled higher than that, the welder was on top, along with a big table fan and all 3 of my buffers. Hand tools covered the workspace as well as empty cans of spray paint, wd40, and other cleaners.....dirty rags, you name it....i couldn't find a thing and when I moved something 3-5 tools would fall on the floor.

It serves its purpose OK. I'd like to get that nice stainless one at Costco and move that one to the shed. Maybe one of these days......

Actually, no... my modest (no, paltry) shed is crammed full of yardcare junk, stuff like that. The one pictured above is spacious, neat, and clean.

Ya, they got a $600 and an $800 one. I'd take either. My one like yours has lasted me nearly 10 years and has even survived a minor flood.

Mine is coming up on 7 years....the non ball bearing drawers are just total junk now. I bought it on clearance for $75 so i can't really complain. Got plenty of use out of it, just outgrew and overflowed it.

Another 400EX owner! :) I have a red 05 400EX that has been a blast to own. Here are a few pics of our garage. We'll be moving into the house next week-my wife & I can't wait! :) The garage is 24' x 36' and is big enough to put in 8' or 9' garage door on the closed up side which is something I'd like to do down the road. It's got 200 amp service, wired for 110v & 220v, full floored loft above so we have lots of storage space, and a 1000lb overhead hoist in the car parking spot. All the pics are of the current owners tools, so I'll have to update the pics when I get my stuff in there.

I wanted to do a hoist SOOO bad, but we did a room over the garage instead. Oh, and check again, that's a 450R with yellow plastic. Well, it's actually a 480 now.;) It catches quite a few people off guard at the dunes.

    I hear that's a good anti-static for when working on electronics. :D

Maybe I can get one of the forum members who are into the goats to pass on a goat when they are done with it.....try that out for a bench cover.
