Got this as part of Spiderman trilogy box set and watched it last night. Although I have watched the DVD many times which has good PQ on its own, the Blu-ray version totally blew me away. Some of the scenes were really jaw dropping (and I am only using a 720p plasma). The sound quality was also very good on Dolby True HD. This should be a good demo material for any high def setup.

Same here! Wife bought the set and my son and I watched the spider man 2.1 first (since we haven’t all been able to get together for 3). I watched it in 1080p on my 133" screen and it was awesome. It’s amazing how clean the video was. You would think that on a 10 foot wide screen you would see flaws in these movies sitting 15 feet back but you don’t... crystal clear and flawless. Friggen amazing movie.

On the flip side, I watched transformers again (HD-DVD) and that movie is clear looking but by design there a lot of inherent blurriness. I was always left with the feeling that with the exceptions of the close ups on their faces when they talked, the Transformers were always extremely blurry and you never got a good look a their detail. Specifically the deceptions. Just way to much "motion" all the time.

I thought that Spider-man 2 did look great, but I wouldn't say crystal clear, SP2 had alot of grain in some areas, but then again it could be the differences in displays and player.

you are always knockin' down hd dvd, even in a thread that never asked for it. i say you should seriously contemplate placing it on the 'bay.;)

as for myself, if i can find a stellar deal on the 3 disc spiderman set, i'll pull the trigger. but mostly for the kids. i don't care too much for superman. though i'm sure blu-ray makes it look outstanding! well, 2&3, anyway.

How is that knocking HD-DVD in any way? I say "that movie is clear looking but by design there a lot of inherent blurriness"? What does that have to do in any way about HD-DVD except for the fact that the movie released on hd-dvd? Come on now... at least you could say something like "you are always knocking down Transformers the movie." I’m guessing you are referencing that one thread that I said you would have to be on crack to buy a $400 Toshiba A30 over a $400 PS3". Sorry dude, I’m an owner of both so that’s just how it is. Fanboys can get all pissed on however they want that I dont pick their hardware.
