I am trying to talk my NEW:eek:(God help me) roommate into getting this system because she keeps violating my ears with her crappy Sony HTIB. All I hear is LOUD boom boom and severe clipping for what seems an eternity. And she thinks that it sounds good. The only problem is that she's really cheap. If you have one or see one , let me know.

I had one and it was the BEST HTiB system I have ever heard. The receiver alone is worth the money.

Saw them recently at Circuit City for not much $$$.

Again, a great HTIB system at a wonderful price.

I agree. The HT-S770 was my first experience with a real audio product.

Wingnut, I actually still have the reliever that came with it - the HT-R520 (TX-SR502 with minor cosmetic differences), and it's collecting dust at the moment.

I almost got her to pull the trigger on an 800. She thinks it's too expensive though and wants to get some crappy Panasonic HTIB from Wallmart. What are you supposed to do with people like this?

    You have two choices:
1.-Educate her and continue spending your and her money on audio/video
2.-Enjoy the Panasonic and have more money in the bank :D

So you moved? I think that is GREAT news, and IMO the right first step ;)

You could make it one of the most rockin' home theater in a box systems around. Just imagine that cheap POS Panasonic with an SVS Ultra/2 as the sub.... :)

Bring home both the Panasonic and the Onkyo HTiB. Set them both up and have a listen. If your new roommate likes the Onkyo, return the Panasonic.

That's a good idea but bringing them here would require ME to spend money which I can't. She's just gotta pull the trigger.

My buddy has that Onkyo HTIB and loves it. Best of luck.
