Well I finally received all the stuff necessary for my Star Quad Silver Plated speaker wires! I am building wire like the AQ type 4's, and The Canare S411 except they are silver. Also I am doing some standard 2 wire silver plated to help make them more affordable:)

These pics suck. My old Nikon was much better. I will have to take a pic outdoors with good light, and a good background. The interior lights here are pretty weak. I will replace these pics with new ones soon.

Thanks E. The picture does not do it justice, but gives you an idea. I am very excited about them. I can make them for about the same price as AQ type 4's, but these are silver. Also I can do a Bi wire setup seeing that I have 4 individual wires in each run;)

Thanks Guys. I love doing this kinda stuff, and I feel in love with silver cables. Those GLS bananas are very nice, and sturdy. I spent a lot of time looking at different options, and one of the main criteria I had for the connectors was something that was one piece. I blew my GFA-585 by a terminal hitting another, and from then on I decided that I would like to use terminals that would never have the option of touching each other:o

    Keep in mind

Not everyone can use those cables

Alot of higher end speakers -

Odyssey comes to mind mounts their banana terminals about 4-5" apart...

so you may need to have an option for something that is spaced apart

They look GREAT though, well built stuff...

You actually mean that some folks cannot use those banana "terminations" due to design. It's got nothing to do with the cable itself.

I think Ben knew what I meant...

How much are you charging for like a 10 ft pair --- Bi-Wire?

Do you offer a double run as well?

    thanks

Tell me how you want them terminated.
As for double run are you asking 8 conductors in one sheath, or 4 each sheath, and tied together on the amp end?
A configuration I was considering was 6 wires per cable with 4 for the lows, and 2 for the highs. That would help keep the capacitance even lower for the tweets.

    Thanks Ben

    EDIT
Just to let you guys know what I am using for wire. It is 16ga silver plated Teflon insulated. 2 16ga equals 1 13ga wire. I also have 14ga silver plated wire... 2 14ga equals 1 11ga wire. My friend used to come over and tease me about being like Monk (TV show). She used to pick on me for trying all kinds of different wires, tweeters, caps... you get the picture. Well anyway I have found 12ga finely stranded wire, and most inexpensive wires sucked the life out of the highs, and sound stage. I have used the AQ CV4's with DBS for the highs before ($475 8 footers), and I like the silvers just as much. Silver just seems to have a very fast tight bass, accurate mids and highs, and carry a full sound stage much better than the coppers. I also have the regular AQ Type 4's (non DBS $200 a pair 8 footers), and the silvers are definitely better on the highs, and mids than them. The AQ's (both types I have used) have been great on the instant bass slam. I hope this comparison helps you get an idea of what they sound like.

The two runs on the bass, single run on the tweets sound interesting...

I like nanners on both ends....

    Interested I are

OK more pics. New nanners. Some people don't have 3/4" spacing on their speakers, or amps;)

Are these pretty similar to t-14 (I think silver sonic)? How much for a pair of 10' cables?

I do not understand how speaker cables can affect sound stage unless, for some reason, the signal for one channel bleeds over into the other.

    Please tutor me.

Silver cables tend to be very fast. There is less smearing(more detail/accuracy). All cables effect sound some just reproduce it better.

Well I shied away from speaker wires. AQ make some real nice stuff that can be had cheap. I like my silvers on the highs, but on the lows they don't play well with some systems. Sure I could make a few bucks selling silver speaker wires, but for a lot of full range situations you could do better than what I was offering. Synergy was tough with these. I may do something in the future for bi-wiring, but till I have a some test cables out there I won't be posting them for sale. They are on the back burner so I wouldn't hold your breath;)
    Thanks
