I fortunately have a couple of days off since I start a new job Wednesday and the LSi15's finally arrived that I purchased off ebay. They are in nearly perfect condition. There are a few small scratches toward the back of the side panels, but the piano finish is perfect. They came nicely double boxed with evil foam peanuts between the two boxes.

Rig:
JVC DVD player (weak link, also doesn't play burnt CD's)
Entech Numbercruntcher DAC
Nakamichi CA-5 Preamp
Adcom GFA-555
LSI15
Signal Cable IC's
Canare star quad speaker wire terminated as a single run

I've got them set up now and have done a little bit of listening. These things are amazing. Even very low volume listening is enjoyable. As expected, very nice imaging and that nice smooth vifa tweeter.

When we listened to the 15s at Chicagoland Polkfest this summer I thought that the bass was just a tad sloppy, but I'll tell you, the way that these are set up in my living room bass is rock solid with a nice low punch.

The soundstage is a bit more forward than I expected, but this contributes to the 3D soundstage and gives the sound depth. I haven't listened to all of my test tracks yet but imaging and soundstage is impressive. I listend to both of Nora Jones' newest CD's and the piano is the most realistic that I have every heard. The detail is in the notes that gives the piano the emotional feel of being at a live performance. In my opinion the piano is a difficult instrument to reporduce well.

So, I'm pretty damn excited. I'll post pictues when I get them off the camera.

Happy Listening, Aaron

Aaron, congrats on acquiring the 15’s! I am familiar with them as Norm had a pair in his treated listening room and they were set up at my house before being sold to another polkie. What is the room like that you have them set up in? I really enjoyed our fest and we did the best we could for placement, but the room was not ideal.

    Congrats on the new job!

The link below is a second set of LSi15's from the seller that i bought them from. I did take a bit of a risk since he doesn't have any pictures of the actual speakers, but the ones I got are nearly perfect and it's hard to pass up that price. They are both former floor models from a store that closed.
