Pops needs an AVR. Something cheep. Something good. Maybe a HK? Maybe better? Listening to all offers:)
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

I have a pretty much like new Yamaha HTR-5790 setting in the box that I am not using since I got my B&K. I always used external amps with it, except for the rear surround channels, so not a lot of mileage on the amp section. The amps in it are not as bright as the previous series of Yamaha AVR's. PM me if you are interested.

I've got an HK AVR125 that I'd be willing to part with. You can't go wrong with anything Doug has though.

Thanks for all the offers guys. Not to be fickle, but Dad is pretty set on an HK 235 or 240. Kinda ironic since I just sold one on the Forum a couple of months ago. Anything available? Or even a 335 or 340?

    Mucho macho gracias,
    Jason

I got it. Just trying to get Dad into the swing of things. He's really, REALLY enjoying his introduction to this hobby.

    Much better than Quadrophonic sound:D

Knock that Quadraphonic stuff out of his head with a small 2x4. Just serve him some Earl Grey, he'll be fine.

I get it from Mom's side -- the brain eatin' and all that jazz. We've come a long way baby. I want my rights. And my dad wants his HK. Thanks Doro.

Thanks for your understanding Steve. I really have to dine on crow with this one. I guess it's a tad bittersweet trying to connect with a Pops long gone from one's life. The head hasn't really been in the clear since.

Still... it's good to have him in the fold.

btw Thanks for policing this one Doro. I hope I get back in "plussed territory".

    Just no fishing boats, okay?
Honestly... I've had very little access to a computer of late. Without going into details, life took me for a spin a few months ago and I'm just trying to pick up the pieces.

Again... apologies to Steve and the rest of the Forum for such ill form.
