All my scores are 5.9 except the proc, which is 5.3.
I am confused, is 5.9 The highest you can get?

the whole point of 5.9 being the highest right now is that it's supposed to be a scalable raging system - so as new hardware comes out the highest available scores will go up and up, but with the lower rated scores being unaffected. It makes it easy to compare scores across time, so a 3.7 in 4 years from now will be the same as a 3.7 now.
My total score is 5.7 right now. -
Vista scoring
Who really cares???
mines a 4.2
It takes the lowest rating of the 5 catagorys for your base which is my proc. Athalon 64 4000+
ram is 4.5 = 1 gig
Graphics is 5.9 EVGA 7800GT VIVO PCIE
Gamming graphics is 5.5 (was 5.8 with microsoft drivers dropped after installing NVIDIA's)
HDD is 5.4 (WD 160 Gig)
Just reinstalled Vista Ultimate 64 after having it off for 6 mos. -
Oh yeah, if anybody has a dual core 939 pin you could send it my way to up my score:D:D
-
My system rating is a whopping 2.0! Gotta love those ATI 9550 AGP video cards.

Aside from the gaming scores, what are the overall thoughts on vista. I have XP pro now & its fine but I was looking at a gaming magazine that had screen shots of games with the new directX 10 that comes only with vista & was pretty amazing.

If you have a dx10 card. for me games are a little slower, but every day use seems to respond a little quicker -
I love Vista. Like you said, DX10 is amazing and I have found no speed issues with it. But, I am also running Vista a little stripped down so that it acts like an upgraded XP. It does exactly what I want, runs like XP used to, and supports all the new goodies. What more could I ask for? (Although my hardware might help too)
E6850 Core 2 -3.0ghz

If you don't have 2 gigs of ram, decent proc, video card forget about it.
My friend is running his on a P4 3ghz, 2 gigs, 512meg 7600gt just fine.
Drivers are coming more available, but you need to ask yourself what does Vista do that XP doesn't? From what I can see its just a few games designed to run with Vista, and DX10.Please. stick with XP
It runs great with good hardware, but might be able to get a few more FPS out of XP.
