Hey guys. I am out of my house and I am on my friend's PC. I am trying to connect to her wireless network with my Mac. I have connection and her password but my Mac is saying to 'See network Administrator. This computer is not allowed on the network' or something like that. How do we change her settings so I can run my Mac on her wireless network? I need my computer. It's the only thing that's not in storage....:(

What security has she set up on her network? Wep encryption, IP Filtering, Not broadcasting the network ID? Could be any of those things. Also - what router does she have? (Sorry - can't help with the Mac side of things, but maybe from the router...)

WAP. I have the password and everything set. I did that on the phone with Apple. She just doesn't know how to add me to her allowed users on the wireless network through the Administrator's settings....?The Apple rep said that's all that's left to do.

Linksys. I can't read the model.

Basically when her husband set it up he put it to where it would only work on her computer.

that sounds about right. i have no idea how to get the MAC address on a mac. Maybe google to find out. After you obtain your mac's mac address go into the router's configuration and add your mac address in.

from her computer bring up her web browser and type in the address bar 192.168.1.1

    Hit the enter key.

put in the user id and password. (try admin or administrator for the id and sysadmin or password as the password.)

from there look for something called mac address filtering.

    Darla,

You have to log into the router. Most Linksys routers are at https://192.168.1.1 . But then you n eed the password.

If you can get into the setup screen, click on "Wireless", then "Wireless MAC filter". Click the "Edit MAC List" and add the MAC for your... Mac to the list.

    Good luck :)

EDIT : You g uys are fast, glad you got it working.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.
