RM2300 Driver identification question
Hey all, I'm very new to these forums, but i just found out that 3 of my driver's for my RM6500 satellite series (using an H/K AVR 25II receiver) got blown out... I'm really angry because it wasn't even me who blew them out but my friends after I left my system unattended for a half hour... Miraculously one driver survived from the rear satellite speaker plus the lonely central driver, probably because i came and turned down the music before it could blow...
I originally purchased these speakers as a set from craiglist + a subwoofer for $225, although 1 central driver was damaged... a good price anyhow for a college student looking for good speakers... But now i'm really beginning to question if these are the real deal polkaudio drivers or if someone replaced the speakers inside with phonies that still sound okay... since after i took the drivers out i saw some broken plastic pieces as well as varying amounts of clamps around the driver inside all 4 speaker housings as well as the person who sold it mentioning that the subwoofer speaker was replaced with a "better one"... I really wish I knew more about what I was buying at the time, but the deal just seemed to good to be true, which it probably was. If I was duped, then lesson learned.
Sorry for the rant, but:
Does anyone have some information on how to tell if these drivers are really from polk? The drivers themselves have some writing(numbers), but I don't know what they mean. I'm currently looking to buy and replace the 4 drivers, but am not sure if i should even bother since the other 2 might not even be polkaudio in the first place.
