I'm selling some SL2000 tweeters that I replaced with sl2500s. I listened to them a few times and they sounded good. I've posted some extremely high-res images of them for examination at http://dave.mme.com/polk/

Please note that the images are 2272 x 1704 pixels and are 1.5 MB in size. So you have to be patient to see the images if you are on a slow connection such as dialup.

    Good photo's.
I never liked the appearance of SL2000 tweets.
What is with the rusty screws?

I'm not sure about that. I KNOW that there is no water damage on my cabinets. I bought a pair of old monitor 7's from this guy and I changed out the tweets. I still use the rusty looking screws :)

the photos were taken with a Canon powershot G2 which is awesome. (you better buy a G2 now if you want one because canon is upgrading and the G2 prices are falling)

Not specific to speakers or screws used to hold in drivers... but if the screws were removed and the screwdriver scratched off even a little bit of the paint, that would be enough to allow rust to form in the slot. If you change out drivers and notice some paint missing from the head/slot of the screws, just touch them up with a little paint to keep the moisture out and the rust away.

Certainly doesn't mean water damage or mistreatment.

How much for the SL2000s?? I don't NEEEEED them.. but a reserve pair would be nice.

I was out sick yesterday... didn't see the deadline.

I'm in for the $25 if it isn't too late. If it is.. my loss.

Let me know, I can handle it this week.

    thanks.

    audiojunky,

Simple, the new tweeters offered by Polk are not constucted the same way as the originals. It's a one fits all now, supposedly the best they could come up with. The SL2000 and SL3000 sound very different so, I don't know how they can say the new one suits both applications. I will continue to seek original SL3000's, got any?

He had one, but I just bought it off of him F1Nut.

They are getting hard to come by for sure and Polk has made it clear that they cannot get the material manufactured any longer.

Real shame about it. If it works......................................Oh well.

    Peace.

I wish I could, but the reason I bought it was for a match on my 1.2 TL's.

As we both know, the original crap is really hard to find, but if I get more you will be the first to know.
