I have a pair of rt800's that sound great but never were just quite right. At high volumes they become very harsh and hard to listen to. But were very detailed at lower volume. As some of you might no I got a pair rt600's that were damaged during shipping. Well I hooked them up to see if they were ok musically and they were! They sounded better than my rt800's. Whitch didn't make any sense to me. I thought maybe because I was more in the 600's power range with my amp b&k 105x2. The 600's only handle 150wpc where the rt800's can handle 250wpc. Well out of curiosity I switched the tweeters from the 600's to the 800's and viola! The speakers I always wanted. Is there such thing as a tweeter being kinda blown up or just wore out?

Out of curiousity, does the RT800 use the same tweeter as the RT600? What were the model numbers (if any) stamped on them?Alea jacta est!

Yes. I don't remember the model number but they were the same.
Edit: If you really want to know the model number I could pull one out real quick. -
I think the RT800 use an SL6502, if I'm not mistaken. If you don't mind pulling one out, I would like to know. Don't go to any trouble though (and don't do any damage!).Alea jacta est!

I don't have to pull one out thats the number. i just had to see it again. It was stamped on the tweeters. The only difference is one was stamped rt600 and the other rt800 but both had the same part number.
