My audio no longer sounds so perfect. I no longer care if it does or not. I'm all about enjoying it now.

Why you ask?

Enter the DQ10's. They suck in many ways. Treble is a little harsh, they don't have the glorious midrange presence off to the sides like the SDA's, there is a small band between bass and mid-bass that is lacking, they have very little sub bass extension, even the overall tonal response may not be right.

What they do right? I don't truely know exactly what is different but music that used to sound absolutely crappy is now my favorite stuff. What I'm finding is I keep wanting to listen to the system way more than I used to. Screw perfection, I'm into enjoyment now. Noises, resonances, perfect treble, extension? Who cares...

The "heretic" remark is based on what Max said about his audio sound -- that it doesn't have to be perfect, and he no longer cares. If we're not striving for perfection, then WTF is this hobby all about?

Ban Max from the club, I say. Cut up his Audio Nirvana membership card. Revoke his 2-channel license until this foul-mouthed sinner repents!

    :D GO CHUCK GO!!!!:D

Chuck & I are not striving for perfection, we are simply looking for a sound that will make us happy. Once that is achieved, we sit back & let the happiness take over.

Perfection in such a subjective hobby is IMPOSSIBLE to achieve & all of you will bring yourselves to financial & mental ruin trying to accomplish the impossible.

I really pity you poor souls, so lost in a world of constant change that you can never find happiness!:p:D:D:D

Well call me a big ole saphead but artists are not perfect and neither is the gear, I bet if you synthed an orchestra with a perfect computer generated piece it would sound terrible, take the same piece and let the artists play the strings and breath into the horns and pound the drums and things will get better in a hurry, perfect no way, but better.

I guess I will just take it anyway I can get it....................of course been doing that my whole life...;)

    Russ nailed it.

The DQ-10's are a fantastic speaker. I loved mine and would have no issues with living with a pair long term. NOW, the DQ-20's that Dave talks about....that's pure audio ****.
