Downloaded the demo. Bought an 8800 320 meg card.
With a 5200 dual core AMD
and 2 Gigs of Corsair 800mhz ram
The game kills my machine. Looks like crap!
Something has to be bad. I will play with drivers.
I could not even play it on my nforce 6500 with GDR3, and 256megs:eek:Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Yeah, I'm afraid to even touch it. My computer is a space heater already... I can't imagine how hot it'll get trying to crunch out crysis.
If only it wasn't so perty...Lovin that music year after year.

Well played with drivers, and turned it down to 800*600 everything at medium. I don't know if it is a directX thing or what, but is not very nice. It looks worse than FarCry.Please. You can try running it in DX 9, which is supposedly a bit faster and probably less buggy.Lovin that music year after year.

Oh, I've played through it several times on my new computer:CPU: Q6600 G0/AC Freezer 7 Pro
MOBO: GIGABYTE P35-DS3R
RAM: 2GB Patriot DDR2 667
GFX: PNY GeForce 7900GS 256MB
On 1250x960 (or something like that) and everything on medium it looks great and suffers no lags or glitches.
I think the gameplay is pretty awesome, too. I'll definitely be buying at some point!George Grand wrote: »

Well I have an 8800GTS 640 meg, and running it on Vista with DX10. I have everything at high, and world, and texture detail at max. Now it looks wonderful:) I have a Quad core Intel coming in with DDR2-1066. From what I have heard you can easily clock the cores at 3ghz on air, and I am trading my 8800GTS for an 8800GTX 768 meg. I am confident that it will be able to handle the new games with no problem. The Demo of Crysys has some glitches, and I hope they patch it up soon. If you guys are running AMD duals like I am currently running make sure you download the dual core optimizer from AMD. Also CTRL-ALT-DEL after starting the game, go to processes, and set the game to high, and set the infinity to make sure you are using both cores, or for you Intel fans that it is Hyper Threading properly.
As for the game the graphics are real nice cranked up, but you need the hardware, or it will look like FarCry. Game play is about the same (excellent so far). As a computer guy I understand what it takes (kinda:p) how much is involved with having grass, and trees blowing in ten different directions. If you understand the complicity of this it will make you smile if you can run it on high!

Well I am running my Quad at 3ghz. It came stock 2.4ghz. I really recommend this proc. I have my ram running at 1066. I just tested Crysys, and had everything on high. The demo won't let me turn it up to very high. Definete eye candy. Looks much better than my 5200X2, and 8800GTS 640 meg.Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. I have never been a big fan of OCing, but when you read a bunch of reviews that all say they have clocked to 3ghz on air stock voltage, and no heat issues I just had to do it. I got a Blue OrbII fan/heatsink, and even under load the thing doesn't get above 52c. The fans are told to speed up at 50c. As for video cards there is a new 8800GT out that really kicks butt, and is relatively cheap. The problem is they can't keep them in stock!

Haha... you guys are funny.
I tried to play this on my machine...
Athlon XP 2200+ (1.8ghz)
1gb DDR400 single channel
Nvidia 6600 GT 128mb AGP 8x
It ran.... well, stumbled, really. I went through about 10 minutes of gameplay and gave up. Added it to my list of "games to play after I get a new PC". Tax return time will come soon enough.Ludicrous gibs! -
Wow, I'm just loving this game! As a qualifier, I'm not a big gamer and suck, so....:D
I just started the demo on delta...that's sweet! I'm having to go a LOT slower (prob way too slow...I played it for an hour and now I'm quiting for bed ), but I'm getting a lot more head shots and it's awesome! That stupid boat out in the water won't leave me alone, though!George Grand wrote: »

I hate to revive SUCH an old thread, but this is the one Crysis thread I actually posted in, so I thought it'd fit best in here.
I FINALLY bought Crysis Monday afternoon. The demo was really fun, but I was itching to see what some other levels looked like, and seeing as how I had a lot of homework waiting for me, I thought it must be the perfect time to buy a new PC game!
I'm really enjoying it, 'cause it's still really cool (and I'm still not an avid gamer). However, I do have to say it's MUCH harder than the demo was (though it is possible I just got really familiar with the demo's map and the KPA's location). I'm just going through it on normal right now...and hopefully I make it through without pulling my hair out too much so I'll be motivated to go through it again on hard or delta.
Right now I'm just on the third level (Relic).
And I'm really wishing I could do MP with it, but my school blocks all the ports for just about every single game except WoW.
Anybody have any more experiences to post about Crysis?
One thing I can say that I don't particularly appreciate about it so far is that it's really got me wanting to upgrade my computer. I really want a 8800GTS (linky). Though I do have to say I'm really impressed with the graphics still playing at 1024x768 with AA off and everything set to medium. My 7900GS handles that load just fine. But you've gotta wonder...what would a little more get me...:pGeorge Grand wrote: »

Its a blast. Near the end you will get pissed. The helicopters are a **** to fly, and shoot. I did beat it at normal, or the next one up? It was tough at times.

Ok, so my friend told me while ago about running it at 1024x768 when my native resolution is 1680x1050 and how it should be blurry since I had the scaling turned on. Since then I've played around with the settings and have been playing it at 1600x900 with scaling off.
I can tell it is a little bit more laggy, but not very much...yet. When I'm zoomed in with a scope it won't let me fire my FY71 as fast as I want to. But other than that I've had NO glitches at all. So I'm thinking this might be a good resolution to play at.George Grand wrote: »

I have player through it twice with my 1333 FSB 3.0Ghz duel core, 4gig 800Mhz, 880GTX 786mb computer, and it still lags a little if I turn everything up. It's just a graphically intense game. I enjoyed the game very much as I thought it was well mande, and will be purchasing the expansion.
-
I've been playing this a little more here recently, and I just started Exodus. It's a really awesome game, most definitely, and I can't wait to finish it so I can go back through it on a harder level. However, I must say I'd like to have a nicer GPU so I can crank up the settings for the next play through.
Don't think that's going to happen, though, because I'm currently looking at getting a PS3 and/or G25.George Grand wrote: »

Woooow. I'm in the middle of playing Ascension. And...just...wow. I HAVE to get a way and cool off or I WOULD be throwing my G5 mouse across the dorm room. I HATE this level with a complete and total degree of hatred. It's IMPOSSIBLE to fly those stupid VTOL's. And I've been searching online and talking to a friend who plays it and has NO problems with it....are there different versions of Crysis? Like an earlier one and a later one with minor tweaks, one of which might be the VTOL? 'Cause you can read a lot about people who hate it and can't do it, and then you'll get a lot of people you say it was extremely easy. And that makes no sense.
I'm seriously hating this game right now. I just wanna be on the ground and pwn some soldiers!!George Grand wrote: »
