Electronics, they build a beautiful case. Why brand it?

My HK and my XA1 are built well and attractive Why screw it all up with labeling every single thing it can do, on the front?

I know it has alot to do with marketing in showrooms, but they can have it as a sticker, that can be removed once it gets home. Is there some other reason for doing this?

Isnt this aggrivating? Or do some of you like it?

I hate it. I used to like it though. Gave you an ego boost.
There is no genuine justice in any scheme of feeding and coddling the loafer whose only ponderable energies are devoted wholly to reproduction. Nine-tenths of the rights he bellows for are really privileges and he does nothing to deserve them. We not only acquired a vast population of morons, we have inculcated all morons, old or young, with the doctrine that the decent and industrious people of the country are bound to support them for all time.-Menkin

All part of marketing. They have to get licenses for the stuff and they get price breaks for the branding. If it could be removed, it would not be as effective. Step up the chain from mass market and you will find less of that sort of thing.

None of my stuff has any labels on the front....

    Hmmmm

I always hated the pieces that had this....

    "Remote Sensor"

HAHA - never understood that one

My Shanling has the remote sensor and HDCD - but is pretty discrete...

I know everyone here likes to hate-monger on Bose, but I think a lot of companies will be copying their new V series Lifestyle systems. The receiver has a detached display panel so you can keep the receiver tucked away in a closed cabinet or equipment closet but still see what is going on. Controlled by a radio frequency remote, of course.

That is a cool idea.......i never did like their systems that you couldn't read the display unless you were standing in front and above the things........

Gee I dunno....I think it is very important that I'm reminded each time I turn on my machine that I have the abilty to play DVD video, DVD-R & DVD-RW, DVD+R & DVD+RW, Video CD, DVD-Audio, SACD, HDCD, CD, CD-R & CD-RW, MP3 & WMA CDs, JPEG, Kodak Picture CDs, Fujicolor CDs in Dolby®, Digital/DTS® as well as being THX certified. Of course this is only until I get a Bluray and HD-DVD machine.
