SPL 4000 Monitors Tower Speaks

I have a pair of tower speakers in my garage that are in overall very good condition. I used them throughout the late 80's and early 90's for my two channel, but frankly haven't fired them up in 10 or 12 years. I want to say I paid $800 for the pair in 1985.

I recently moved and it made me realize I still own them. This alone will make me motivated to fire them up, but does anybody know anything about them? I will try to post pix but having problems with my camera. The speakers are SPL 4000 Monitors and stand about 4 ft tall.
