Just got done watching my son play and finish it on medium....just an incredible game. The music is top notch, and the addition of having the actual band sing it makes the experience even better. I try to play it and I look like a fool, but I really enjoy watching my sons play it.

I was thinking about buying it. I've never played a Guitar Hero game, but I downloaded the demo on the 360 and tried playing it with the controller... and it was fun. But then someone told me on the guitar controller, you have to press the button and hit the strum bar at the same time and all I could think was "Crap, am I that coordinated?"

Every time I come across a demo station somewhere, it is surrounded by kids... and I don't want to be the 34 year old guy looking like a dumbass in a Walmart, y'know? :)
    Equipment list:
    Onkyo TX-NR3010 9.2 AVR
    Emotiva XPA-3 amp
Polk RTi70 mains, CSi40 center, RTi38 surrounds, RTi28 rears and heights
SVS 20-39CS+ subwoofer powered by Crown XLS1500
    Oppo BDP-93 Blu-ray player
    DarbeeVision DVP5000 video processor
    Epson 8500UB 1080p projector
Elite Screens Sable 120" CineWhite screen

The guitar is more in intuitive than the controller. YOu may actually find it easier. No to mention way more fun.

The game would be worthless without the guitar.

There are just waaaay too many games out right now. In fact, I just started playing Bio-Shock for the first time today and Assassin's Creed comes out real soon as well.

If I buy any version of guitar hero, this will probably be the one.

We got it yesterday. My wife and I bought the game after playing my nephew's one weekend a few months ago. I have the PS3 so we have had to wait for our own.

What difference do the guitars and outfits serve? Is it just for fun, or should you be selecting a certain guitar for certain songs, changing your outfit/appearance for certain venues? Basically is the money like the points in "Who's Line" where it just doesn't matter?

Yeah, the money doesnt matter. It just lets you buy new characters and outfits, which also have no effect on gameplay or outcomes. Its just for fun.

Finished up Bio Shock yesterday morning and then downloaded the demo of GH3 and was addicted. This game is soooo much fun!

I have played guitar for quite a long time and I must say, it's easier to play the songs with more notes than the ones that aren't the way. The oddest song to play on easy was One by Metallica, because I always learned the lead guitar part and that was mostly the rythem part. I hear it gets hard as hell later on -- should be fun. :D

I have listen to my cousin for months talk about Guitar Hero being electronic crack. Well today her brought his PS2 and GH,GH2,GH3 & CH 80's Classics. I played it for about an hour straight and needless to say I drove a hour to a little town (Centralia) to get one for my PS3. Listen to this, I was just going to buy it off Bestbuy online and they was sold out so I looked at walmart in town and they was sold out so I went to Kmart and they haven't even got it yet. I was going to check FYE in our mall but by that time they was closed due to it being Sunday. Once again I jump online and check walmart online and to search by store and get this, there was only two Walmarts in a 100 mile radius that had one. Centralia had 2 and Marion had 1, so I made a B-Line as fast as I could get to Centralia to get on before they sold out. I got home around 7:30 and I just stopped playing it at 2:00 a.m.

Hey guys, I want to buy this game but have zero guitar talent. I have read so many good things about it. Is it easy to catch on to? I dont wanna spend the coin and have it sitting around. Any suggestions would help out, also I will be buying it on the Xbox 360 platform.

You can have Zero Guitar Experience and still have a blast playing this game. Really! I have friends that play guitar and that say it is harder if you know how to play one because you are try'n to play the game guitar like the real thing and it is not even close!

Ok guys been playing this since yesterday with the Wireless Guitar controller that it shipped with. I must admit, I did suck for about the 1st 1 hour of getting in the groove of the controller. Afterwards I began to rrrrrrrrrrrock and I can say hell yeah I love this game. Its so much fun, and for those of you guys playing it, the music sounds damn good on my setup. It almost feels like Im in the game rocking the crowd. Graphics are A+. I have zero experience with a guitar, but this is fun. Im rocking on medium level, the other two are beyond me right now. Cant wait to try out RockBand. Taking a break now, my fingers are tired.

This was the main attraction at my Thanksgiving Party. Now more of my friends will be ordering it. Sweet.

I think it's way better than 1 and 2 and the 80's. The boss battles are pretty neat also. I've always played on hard on the other ones so I figured this one would be no different. Boy was I wrong! I've gotten all the day down to Slayer, Metallica, Iron Maiden and Eric Johnson. I cannot beat Raining Blood by Slayer at all. It took me forever to beat Iron Maiden and Metallica, but for some reason I cannot beat Slayer whatsoever. I'm thinking about dropping down to Medium just so I can beat the game! I've never had this much trouble on hard. But all in all I would recommend it to anybody who likes music and who likes to play "air guitar" to they're favorite songs! LOL

    I hate the boss battles.

From what I hear The Devil Went Down to Georgia is impossible on hard even. For us mere mortals anyways.

Well beat it today on hard. The Devil Went Down To Georgia is the hardest thing I've ever played on any video game period! Then I had to play Through The Fire And Flames and that was even more impossible! Awesome though when you can buy Lou. He's 15,000 dollars when you can afford him. Awesome game though. I need to get Rock Band now.

+1 you are my hero as well. Any thoughts on making a video of you playing so we can check out the skills. Im playing on medium and easy @ best. Would love to see those skills at work. Nice that you finished it up.
