Ok, on my new computer I've installed Acrobat Reader, Quicktime, Real Player, Flash player, etc for viewing the usual stuff online. However, I can NOT see the smilies in AIM. What gives? What do I need to install to see those?

AFAIK, the smilies are built into AIM. Have you tried just reinstalling it?If you will it, dude, it is no dream.
