Is this a crazy idea?

I have a Denon avr-4306, Rti12's for fronts, Csi5 for center and Fxi3's for surround and surround back and a Velodyne Spl-1500 sub with an Emotiva RPA-1 on the fronts and 5 Outlaw m2200's on the center and the surrounds. Absolutely awsome powerfull amazing sound. What I am thinking of doing is purchasing another pair of speakers, maybe Rti8's or rti10's to use for my surround (A) speakers for listening to music in 5 channel stereo mode and being able to switch back to the Fxi3's for home theater. Is there a speaker selection switch avalible to do something like this? What does anyone think of this idea? Am I completly out of my mind?

If you can do it,go for it!!:) You can never have to many big speakers. I don't know about the splitter but you have my blessing on the 8' or 10's.:D

Sounds great. You will love it. Rat Shak has speaker selectors.

I love how music can brighten up a bad day. -
I have heard of it being done for the hi-rez formats like DVD-A which recommend different speakers and locations for the surrounds. Never for 5ch stereo, but then again I don't really know anyone who uses 5ch stereo...except for parties.

RTi10's are great as surround speakers.

I second the RTi10's .
Possibly pick up a universal player, and play SACD's and DVD A's
