Lsi25 vs Lsi15 when a subwoofer is part of the setup

I am debating this issue between a few friends of mine. The Lsi25 has a powered subwoofer and the Lsi15 does not. If I set the front speakers (either 25 or 15) to "small" on the receiver because I have a separate powered subwoofer connected to the subwoofer out, isn't the advantage of having the powered subwoofer in the 25 going to go to waste because it is not being used? IF that is the case, wouldn't the 15 being the bigger bang for the buck?

Yes, setting the subs in the 25 to small would be a waste, so why do it? Run the 25's at full range even with a separate powered sub.

If we tell you, do we get a percentage of the bet? :p

I believe that setting either the 25s or the 15s to small bypasses the low end. The bottom part of thespeaker becomes a very nice and expensive stand.

I do know this has been true of my 25s. Set to small, nada from the powered sub.

In my current setup, the 25s are my surrounds, and it kicks asp. To about 30 Hz.

    Someday, I'm getting an SVS.

Personally, I like the LSi15's better than the 25's. (you will need a decent amp to control the woofer though)

If you have that - save your money and get the 15's. (sub or not)

Setting the LSi 15 or 25 to "small"? That sounds like owning a Corvette and limiting it to first gear.
Do you hear that buzzing noise?

My room is so bad for bass, setting my 15's to small is the only way to get decent sound out of them. (I have my sub eq'ed)
