    The V8 in the 928 is a completely Porsche developed drivetrain and chassis. There is no VW DNA anywhere to it. 1985.5 was when the 944 changed to the new interior, but the exterior is still the same. 1986 was not a milestone car other than if I can recall the introduction of the 951(944T). And 928's are still fast. The 32V versions can make 400hp easy.
