Hey,

Im in and out of the house alot every day and i find myself turning my Onix SP3 on and off maybe 5-6 times a day. Would it be better for me to just leave the amp on? Im just trying to prolong the life here, but i feel like leaving tubes on all day would burn them out. Whats the deal?

Leaving it on will reduce tube life....not sure what's the expected life on that integrated, but generally preamp tubes will last a lot longer than power tubes. It's your choice...less tube life (which can still be years) or good sound without waiting?

If I were you I would turn it off when you're done listening for the day and leave it on the rest of the time.

First, tubes need to warm up to sound their best. On the weekends, I listen to my SP3 between 3-5 different times during the day, so I leave the unit on all day. Sure, my tubes won't last as long calendar-wise, but I'm hearing the amp at its best, so it's worth it to me.
