No need to over complicate the simple, use your balance knob to compensate.

That would be Yusuf Islam...the singer formerly known as Cat Stevens. He would have been better off with a symbol.

    What's a balance knob?

This balance stuff is just crazy. How can you know it is even off unless you do a double blind ABX test to prove it. You just see the door there and your mind is tricking you into thinking the level is different....

+1. It's all audio voodoo and a conspiracy by the knob manufacturers to get people to buy knobs they don't need. After all, research shows that sound balance can't be measured.

I agree (as in, the control is there, why not try it out)... while I don't use the balance, I do use tone controls on my NAD pre, to cut the treble down a notch since I have sensitive ears. If the knobs are there, and the circuits are done right, which in the case of balance, it is hard to do it wrong!

The best "balance" controls are on the pres that use dual mono construction, and where the volume knob turns two pots, one for the left and one for the right, and so the "balance" control involves the movement of one more than the other. I can't see anything wrong with that.
