SACD hookup help

This seems to make sense but just making sure. Since I have a 2 channel amp hooked up to my AVR via preout then if I want to run multichannel then I would have to have front right and left cables hooked to the amp instead of the AVR?
I hooked them all straight to the AVR but am only getting sound from the center and rears. Is there something silly I'm not thinking of? Oh, by the way:HK AVR335,HK DVD-47, and HK PA2000 bridged for two channel.
Thanks, Dave

I am unfamiliar with your receiver, but i am making the assumption that it has a 5.1 input on it? If it does, then just use that one input for the SACD player, then leave the rest of your setup the way it was....Assuming again you are using the pre-outs on it for the front channels? Now that I have throughly confused the **** out of you, I will continue to "study" for my chemistry mid-term......

You may have to tell the H&K to ouput from the 5.1 multi channel, did you get this working??
You need to hook from the source to the avr 5.1 inputs then from the front left and right pre-out to the amp. Speaker cables from the amp to front left and right, Speaker cables from the avr for the other speakers.
