Having a CJ PV14LS2 tube preamp, I'm finding out that it's not a simple task of just adding an amp. I was looking at the PASS Labs x150 & x250 but something about their impedence (Correct me if I'm wrong) doesn't match up well with the CJ, or so I've been told. It was recommended that the Audio Research 300.2 would be a great synergy match. Also the Classe' CA201 was also mentioned.

How does one match up the amp & preamp? This is a new audio lesson I'm going thru so I can use all the info you can throw at me.

Any thoughts on CJ amps? I'm sure they would fit like a glove with their own preamp.

Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. The only "problem" I've had with gear is output gain. I've had a ton of gear and never experienced a impedence problem or audible mismatch. YMMV.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
