Hmmm....do these look like some of the Polk towers I've seen? ;) Man, these scammers will bank off of any company to make a dime. What a bunch of crap. Look nice but that's about where it ends.

No affiliation, of course.

These guys make them look like famous speakers. They often use
names that are close to real names of high end speakers.
DFW CL has also had these guys list those speakers as the real
thing in their ads. They aren't going away. Those stupid ads flood
CL and EBAY locally. Short of an angry mod, I don't know how to make them go away.
All we can do is post warnings and flag ads.

Yep. It's a shame that they are here to stay. The internet has given them a whole new medium in which to sell their crap.

I worked with a guy this past weekend, that bought some of these type of speakers. He was very happy with them so I didn't tell him anything different. In the end it's not about me but I wanted to strangle him.

Hey, when did Polk decide to sell LSi15s under the "Digital" brand??

For that price, maybe they skimped on a few things. ;)
So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

I went to a couples house to install a custom built pc I had made for them along with setting up a wireless network for them...the wife was SO proud on the ...Shhhh....great deal they had gotten on some 3,000 dollar speakers.

Man , I was like cool can I see them.....lets just say my experience was the same as yours. It took every ounce of strength I had to keep a straight face and say " Those are very nice " and get out of the room before I started laughing to tears. She was so proud....

Craigslist is inundated every day with these things. If the same "Kirsch" speakers are offered one day for 100.00 and the next day for 1500.00, shouldn't that raise a few red flags?!? Are people really that naive?

While I am sure they don't sound that great (compared to LSi15's) I must say, I kind of dig the shorter grill on the front. (minus the rounded around the speaker parts...)

Chinese manufacturers can knock off ANY product. And they should be able to - they build the legit equipment as well.

400 watts program is more of a Pro Audio measurements of continuos - etc

    Anyways

Aside from the fact these speakers suck...

I'm kind of impressed with the looks and the fact the midbasses use phase plugs

Ah well ;) - I've seen a few of those speakers, identicle, under about 15 different POS knock off companies...
    - Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

The Chinese do make many of the original products.
But quality is a hard task for them. They only put as much in as
    the buyer requests(maybe!).
The scam that follows these speakers pisses me off a lot more that the poor
product quality. The chinese take orders, and are quite willing to put anything
on the nametag or box the buyer requests.
The new wrinkle is some of these guys are just listing them out of their warehouse
at a modest markup(only 100%). At $250, they are cheap enough
that many will still buy them knowing they are poorly built. And the seller cuts
out the middleman. No more tattoo covered ex-cons driving around in white
cargo vans. Oh, what will become of those poor, misunderstood
con men? Maybe a support group?

LOL I read their 'About us Section' on their website ... Ive provided a few highlights ...

Our innovative thinking and driver designs soon attracted worldwide interest and the company begain to form solid joint ventured in conjection with major parts suppliers on a world wide basis.

note: Perhaps they should update their Chinglish and use 'conjunction' instead ...

PTS Ads in the Audio Magazine for Hi-End products, for a long time, was rated excellent from 1994-1999.

Comment: Wow your advertisements garnered awards!! What an accomplishment, perhaps they should get out of the speaker scam bussiness and get into marketing/graphic design

The reputation accumulated by PTS from its 18 years history is getting bigger and better. PTS faced alI aspects of challenges and moved on. PTS appreciates your support and comments. Please discard our competitors' comments that smear on us.

note: LOL .. why doesnt Polk have a comment about 'Discard our competitors comments that smear us" on their website ?

The quality still continues to be rated in front by the Audio industry.

Comment: Huh? In front of what?

We reward our customers with better prices to increase their profits.

Comment: Clearly an economist on staff at PTS.

This catalog is also for the consumer's reference.estigious branded manufacturers in the world.

Comment: Thats a direct cut and paste from their sentence. Wonder if anyone bothered using a spell check to see what the hell 'estigious' means.

Anyhow, I read that for you guys so you wouldnt have to waste 2 minutes of your life that you'll never get back ...

I had a trim carpenter who came to my house a year ago to bid on some work. We started talking about sound systems. He took a look at my Polks and said 'he'd never heard of them'. He said 'I have high end speakers that are 900 a piece (or something like that)'. When I asked him the name he said 'Digital Research'. I looked all over the net for this at that time and didn't find anything. The other week, when I read about the WV scam, I ran across a site that mentioned this name as one used. Makes me feel good, because eventually that s.o.b ran away with some of my money (advance) and never came back.

Edit: And what do we have mentioned in the ad above - 'DR' 810 !!!

And I guess this is different from the great deal one thinks they are getting when buying new, in the box, Polk R50s for under $150 when the web site says the MSRP is $639.95

They were much higher . I wonder if these are being closed out?
Either way, still a better speaker than most white van ones.
Gives you an idea what the the cost must be on the ol' theater research
    model.
