OK, I'm starting to get back into vinyl, thanks to you guys. :D Anyways, I'm kinda looking at VPI and Music Hall. I was wondering if this is a good deal for a VPI. Any thoughts.http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?anlgtabl&1197586768

VPI Scout (and I mean this in a good way) is the bottom of the high end. Most of the MMF ("Make Money Fast" is what Roy Hall himself is claimed to have meant by the acronym) tt's are toys, but they are not inexpensive.
The Clearaudio Emotion (or its Marantz morph) are also probably worthy of consideration, and a bit cheaper than the Scout.

    All IMNSHO, of course...

(and, for the record, I own a cheap tt... but the Scout and the Marantz/Clearaudio are on the short list when my old b&o bites the dust)

I love my Scout. Far more than the LP12 it replaced. Not that the LP12 is a bad table, but I'm on a wood floor, and had isolation issues. I think the Scout sounds better too, more substantial. I'm done with suspended tables...for a while.

I'm kind of itching to get back into vinyl. Been awhile. I've heard that the VPI's are good. And now that my new amp is on it's way, It's time to turn my attention to a new rig. I'll be doing my homework.:)

I like my Scout as well but I am not sure I would pay $1300 forba used one with the risks. I would rather buy it local and new.
