A guy a work was telling me His buddy just went out and bought new home theater subs. Then he told me he only has on pre out and ran a y splitter to run them both. I think sometings gotta give am I right. He also said he heard humming for the subs and the amp wasnt on.

    I split mine 4 times and no problems.

    Hummm....bad cable or bad splitter.

    The Y works fine in that application....the hum isnt from the Y itself ....thats most likely a grounding issue fixed in a number of ways...search on grounding or hum and you will find a lot on the subject.

    I once had a hum from my sub that I fixed by connecting an rca cable from the sub's rce output to an unused audio rca input on my vcr.

    Does he not have the ability to run a pre out from the preamp to sub1 and then connect the sub2 to the sub1 outs?
