Does anyone have experience with the current line of SDA replacement drivers from Polk? Is there any perceived difference in sound from the original Polk drivers?

Hmmmm? good question. I just bought a MW6503 to replace a bad one in my SDA 2B's. the rubber surround is stiffer.. that's to be expected.. it's new.. it's slightly duller in how shiny it is.. but so far. the sound is rather good.. albiet maybe slightly louder than the 20 yr old in the right speaker. so, i may purchase another new MW6503 to replace the old one in the right speaker.. and have one as a spare. :)

I just picked up eight 6509's that were stored in their boxes since 1993. That gives me full replacements for my SRS 2's.

The replacement drivers were voiced from the original drivers. I've never heard a difference.

I think the RDO 194 tweeter replacements for the SL 2000's are MUCH better

They are but were not talking about RD0194's. In addition, it's a silk dome, so it shouldn't be a huge suprise they sound better than the SL2000.

Sorry, I should have clarified. The ones I was really curious about were the new 6 1/2 inch drivers, not the RD0194's or 198's.
dorokusai, I'm just curious, what speakers have you used the new drivers in?

I have replaced mid-bass drivers in SDA1C, 2.3TL and the CRS models.

The response was about an older pair but the ones you know about are still here collecting dust.

I just reglued the side panels and have new tweeters on the way. I don't think I'll mess with them after that. If I get motivated, I'll fix the veneer on the lower endcap but they'll be in the FM soon either way. They take up too much space.

Maybe a little smelly. But I am maxed out on SDA's right now. I just need a good amp for them now.
