Im so pumped about Thursday .... Im finally going to be picking up my Rotel Amp and be able to drive my LSi fronts properly ...

I wont be upgrading my center speaker any time soon ... The problem will start as soon as I play my first movie, just wondering what to expect. Ill have the LSi 25s as my front speakers and a RM7302 center speaker (175 watts, 8 ohm). These will not be timber matched I imagine as they are different lines and wondering what to expect from this less than ideal setup ...

The search feature didnt yield any advice besides "Choose a center to timber match". Well too late, stuck with what I have ... will I have to greatly adjust the volume of the center or fronts to compensate for this on the reciever ...
of course this wont help the timber.

Any comments ... I fear that Ill have this system setup for a while as Im planning on upgrading my display first, then get a Hi Def player, and then get a XBox 360/PS3 ... so the center will be left struggling for a while.:(

Thanks,

Zsolt

Don't worry about it. Timbre matching is for wussies. Just calibrate and be done with it.

Other members are running mismatched centers. They seem to be happy with what they are running.

Agreed, don't worry about it. All of my speakers are mismatched & it sounds fine to me! Just calibrate your speakers & enjoy!

Center channel is the most important speaker in your HT setup. Why would you cheap out on it??? All dialogues/speech/other human voices come through this speaker. I upgraded my CS245 to CS400 to match RT1000p, and the difference was night and day!

As Viperz posted, I do have an LSiC for sale. However, I might have to tack on some extra for shipping to Ontario.

We can work out the details if you're interested.

It's not as if he doesn't want a matching center, he simply plans on putting other purchases before it. He does have a center channel.

All we are telling him is that it is NOT necessary to stress out about the non matching speaker. It will do the job until he can get around to purchasing one.

The non timbre matching will be negligible if he does a good job with calibration, which is far more important!

I've been thinking about yanking my LSiC for the CSi5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think Polk should have put 6 1/2" drivers in the LsiC instead of the smaller 5 1/4" and should have gave us a 3-4" 4th driver to help some of the roll off for the Feq. in between. Just my thoughts. Kinda like the Paradigm Signature C3 but I would love to see one like the C5.
Hey Matt do you think you can help us out with something like the above???? LoL. Its kinda like try'n to talk to (GOD). Hey Big Guy!!! LoL

Thanks for the offer. I Would love to swing a deal but it isnt in my cards at this point. Some one will be lucky though and snag a deal.

An amp, speaker wire and silver interconnects are all I can swing without cutting into my Christmas fund ... I keep having to remind myself that "Giving is more of a joy than recieving". Whoever wrote that is a lunatic :D Of course I dont have kids so Im still in that selfish mode, Im sure Ill get over it eventually.

Everyone: Appreciate all the advice. I will stick to my current set up and calibrate it the best I can.
