If Outlaw had released 300 watt monoblocks like my 2200's (200 Watts) I would have bought 7 of those first.

Man I would have thought that something that took two power cords would have at least double in power when you start dropping the ohms to it.. We seen the power output but whats the current & voltage output?
Hell my little one power cord having Sunfire will do 400x7@8, 800x7@4 & (here is the big one) 1600x7@2. LoL
Oh and the max output current is 120 amperes Peak to peak per channel, Maximum voltage output is 57vrms. on the little (fire box) LoL :)

Well, Scott from Outlaw seemed to indicate that the lack of a power doubling stat was just playing with numbers on some companies behalf. I am not sure how true that is, but the amp sounds good so far. Anyway, the idea of a 1:2 ratio between 8 ohms and 4 ohms at any given value is incorrect.

On a side note, they don't list 4ohm specs because at full load. But it is theoretically 450 watts/channel.

From the website: "In fact, the Model 7900 is so powerful, we’re not technically “allowed” to rate this amplifier with 4-ohm speakers under an all channels driven load. Its 450 WPC of output at this impedance will demand 26 amps of combined current draw, technically exceeding the accepted current draw margin for dual 15-amp breakers!"

I will post pics soon, but I don't have a proper processor for it yet for my HT. I have a DPR 1001 which is a very nice digital reciever, but is not high current and the pre-outs on it are terrible -- I just jumped on the trade show deal. However, in my two channel system it certainly sounds good.

If anyone in NC with comparable amp wants to challenge it, I am up for a fight!

Damn, too far away. I would love a 2 channel shoot off.

Ian, at the end of the day, if you like the sound and are happy with the purchase, than the specs mean nothing.

I do not get the "we are not allowed to post 4 ohm power rating" thing. It probably has to do with the Sherwood licensing deal, as the Outlaw is the "entry level" brand of the exact same product. But Scott is a good guy I have spoken with many times. Enjoy.

Well, the 7900 is up and running the L, Right, and Center channels.... my reciever is running the rears, simply because the outputs to the rears have a lot of static for some reason. Anyway, sounds fantastic. Big improvement over the 7125.
