VM Series Set up, pls critique
Hey guys just had a few Q's about a 5.1 set up I wanted to use. I am thinking about putting a set of VM30's for the fronts, a set of VM 20's for the sourrounds and a VM10 for the center speaker with a 10" sub. My questions are this:
1) Will using the VM10 as my center work with this set up? I know it is the smaller of the series and from what I have read here it is an important speaker but the only place I can put it is on a shelf under the the TV (The VM10 would just fit in it) Polk suggests the VM20 as a center so am I looking for problems using the VM10 here?
2) Are using the VM20's as the two rear surrounds overkill? Will I really notice that much of a difference or will the VM10's be ok??
3) The room size is approx 40 feet long by 18 feet across, I am only using the first 20 feet for the HT room, its just that it is one big room with no wall breaking it up. So is the VM series a good choice here, I guess I'm thinking that because they are smaller speakers compared to the RTi series they may not deliver as well in this size of room???
Thanks for any advice guys, I'm totally new to this so I have no idea what to really expect from this set up. I figured I better get some advice before starting!!!!

The VM20 will blossom in the midrange a little more than the VM10. That being said, if the VM10 is what will fit, roll with it. As far as the rears, you can go either way. The whole series is outstanding. Don't let the size fool you, they image like crazy, and can get PLENTY loud.
Welcome to the boards, and thanks for choosing Polk Audio!
