I'm in need of a new receiver. It's gotta be have the latest HDMI 1080P stuff. I'm leaning hard towards the Yamaha RX-V1800. Anything else comparable to the Yammi in that price range? Thanks.

I think HK AVR 745 can be found for cheap. Not sure about 1080p, but I do believe it has 1080i and HDMI. Good amp section as well.

Outlaw has an amp/prepro combo offer for $999.00
It dose not have the hdmi switching, but the sound would be better then any stand alone receiver for that money.

    I would second this recommendation!

Onkyo 805. 1080p HDMI support, THX Ultra 2, Burr-Brown DACs, Audyssey MultEQ XT (see www.audyssey.com for details), optional Sirius or XM support built-in, hi-res audio over HDMI 1.3a, and it decodes every format you can throw at it including DTS-HD Master Audio and Dolby True-HD (and can do in-receiver 5.1 to 7.1 conversion of lossless formats using DPL-IIx, DTS Neo:6, THX Ultra2, etc.). It also converts component sources to 720p over HDMI using Faroudja DCDi so you can have one cable to your set for all your video sources if you need to.

Onecall has them for about $900 right now, but you might find a better deal if you look around.
    Equipment list:
    Onkyo TX-NR3010 9.2 AVR
    Emotiva XPA-3 amp
Polk RTi70 mains, CSi40 center, RTi38 surrounds, RTi28 rears and heights
SVS 20-39CS+ subwoofer powered by Crown XLS1500
    Oppo BDP-93 Blu-ray player
    DarbeeVision DVP5000 video processor
    Epson 8500UB 1080p projector

Onkyo: HDMI1.3 compliant. As future proof as you can get right now.

That Onkyo sounds about the same as the Yamaha, features wise. The new Yammi is also HDMI 1.3, upconverts everything to 1080P etc. Thanks. Oh, and thanks for the outlaw rec., but I NEED the HDMI switching.

SO, Onkyo vs. Yamaha, is one better than the other? I'm on my 2nd Yamaha now, RX-V3000. No complaints.

Got the Yamaha RX-V1800. It should be plenty of power for my small room. Anyone else have one or feedback on one?? Thanks.

I've had a few Yammi's. I like the sound but they can be real bright with the wrong speakers. Alot of members are not real big fans, but only your ears can tell if it's good or not.
