I have never paid much attention to Cambridge Sound in general and didn't know they made speakers at this price level. These just got listed locally and they are just around the corner. Any good and worth the money?? No specific model # listed. I don't need them BTW.

Thanks.

They should be at least worth a listen ?
Henry Kloss made the KLH Model 9 Electrostatics, and other fine speakers in their day.
    He does know his stuff.

He don't know **** for a couple years now. Latest reports still have him dead. Legendary, but quite dead.

I'd be really surprised if they weren't spiffy Ted. The guy I bought the AR-9's from had replaced them with speakers from the Cambridge Soundworks "Newton" series. They were all 6", two-way, bookshelf models used with a Newton series sub, and they sounded very nice.

Worth the asking price, they have a rear firing midwoof and tweeter identical to the front driver, iirc. Those were the last series Kloss worked on, right before he did the table radio stuff for Tivoli.

George, I'll shoot you an email on our new resident crackpot, get you up to speed (you'll never get out of first, he's not THAT fast).

    Cheers,
    Russ

Henry Kloss stopped designing good loudspeakers when folks figured out what KLH meant.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Russ, save your fingers. If my friends don't like him, he's definitely shitlist bound around these parts.

    Kloss, Lowe, & Hoffman.

Most folks think it's old Henry's initials, backwards.

Mark, send me more pictures of yourself. I rubbed the old ones raw.

I might have to make a daytime, "work" visit to give you something hands-on.

My wife, the former Theresa Talamonti is going away on a seminar to ChiTown this weekend. I can send Stephie to the movies. It'll be just me, you, and maybe a few live eels and some kitchen appliances if you catch my dwift.

I've got a fever and the only medicine is George Grand.

Nah, I can't make it up this weekend but I'll give you a shout in the next couple. I have a new tattoo on my **** that I'd like to show your family in the kitchen.

The eels AND the girls are onboard for THAT my man. Remember last time? WOW! Who would've thought eels could smile and undulate along to the V-People.

Wonder if I can bag a super saver, pretty short notice, but I'm sure it would be worth it.

The local stop-n-stab has a sale on Brylcreme, it would be a hell of a party. Especially if Mark showed up, then neither one of us would have to play '****'.

Is this thread officially **** and exciting or was there some chatter about Cambridge Soundworks?

Capecodder, did you see the pair of Dynaudio speakers that just came up on boston craigslist recently? Wondering if you went after those if they are what you're looking for.

I seem to have missed this train, but, FWIW...

The CSW Model Sixes (one of Henry Kloss' last designs -- EDIT, oops, forgot Tivoli!) are not bad at all; they're cheap and benefit greatly from some XO work.

I don't think I'd bother with any of their floorstanders for the $.
