This is very difficult for me, but it's time. After a decade, I have decided it is time to send my big Klipsch Cornwalls on their way. I bought these in 1997 from their original owner (his wife had been bugging him for YEARS to get rid of them). They were made in 1974, and thus have EV T-35 AlNiCo tweeters, Atlas AlNiCo squawkers, and CTS ceramic magnet woofers. They are completely original and in good but not "like new" cosmetic condition. The only modification they sport is rope caulk damping on the MR horns. They include the "risers". These are "C-DB" models (Cornwall Decorator Birch) that were unprofessionally finished (presumably by their original owner).

I would like to get $750 for the pair, but I am negotiable. For $750, I'll throw in a working pair of "Speakerlab" EV T-35s.

If you've never heard Cornwalls... well... they're not Altecs (not Polks, either). They can sound pretty durn good, though, with good program material and sympathetic amplification, and they have the dynamics and impact you'd expect from horn drivers and a direct-firing 15" woofer in a large vented enclosure. A Fisher 500C is very empathetic to them. They sound like "high end" hardware when driven by a Marantz 8B. Tube Macs are also reputed to be a good match (I cannot vouch for that, though). Single Ended or Push-Pull 2A3 amps are a classic pairing for them as well. They are, as we say in New England, wicked efficient.

Pick-up only :-) We're in the Boston MetroWest area (near I-495/MA Rt 2) for anyone who wants to see/hear them. Here are some not so great photos of both of them. Note that they are "mirror imaged" in their one asymmetric element (their PWK "pie wedge" logos).
