Surrounded in Sound without Surround Sound
Sometimes it takes others to help you appreciate what you've got --
Last night I had some friends over. One of the guys wanted to hear Seal on my 2-channel system, so I popped in the CD for him. After a minute or so, he looked to his left, then to his right, and asked, "Are those on?" (He was referring to my surround speakers.) "Nope, I replied." Then he pointed to the center channel and said, "Is that on?" "Nope," I said. I guess he didn't believe me, so he asked me again, still pointing to the center channel, "That's not on?" "Nope." After a moment had passed, he said, "Wow, those are some good speakers."
I had to fight hard to refrain from laughing.:D
