The new metroid, how is it?

The original metroid prime was easily my favorite game of that generation. Even though its 5 years old I still find myself putting it in the "kiddie" gamecube and play for hours.

Now, I want to buy a next gen system in the next few months(probably after christmas) and was planning to get the 360 since it easily has the best selection of games( IMHO, so don't freak out polk fan AKA ps3 fanboy). My friend has the wii and I just can't get into it. The games are just too simple, and feel rushed. So if I buy a wii, as for right now it would be solely for metroid.

I've noticed hardly anyone has talked about metroid prime 3 since it came out a month ago (probably since almost everyone on here loves halo and wouldn't care to play metroid). But for those few others who have played it. What do you think? How are the controls compare to the predecessors?

I have it, its excellent. Its the first Prime game I've played. The controls take some time getting used to, but once you do its so much fun. Aiming the remote like its a gun is a really fun way to play a shooter. I'm not very far into it (I still play the 360 much more) but I can tell its very fun. The boss battles are cool. I would say that it has the best graphics for the Wii compared to any other game. Honestly, I didn't know graphics could be that good on the Wii.

I certainly wouldn't choose the Wii over the 360 just for Metroid unless you were planning on playing other games. But thats just me. I'm sure you won't be disappointed with it.

Excellent, that's the next one I'm going to pick up for the wii. The controls took a little getting used to for resident evil 4 also, but once I did it was a blast

Glad you like it. When you finish it, you should get the original prime(You could probably get it real cheap nowadays). The controls might not seem as "free" as the wii but its still a fantastic game and you'll love every second of it. You could skip out on MP2, its basically MP1 but its annoyingly hard. (you know, unnecessary hard enemies, a few long and boring bosses, etc.)

The other game I have to say I'm looking forward to for the wii is that new super smash brothers game, so we'll see after christmas if that game lives up to the hype. Then I'll try to make my decision.

I'm surprised only one person has played this game, isn't there anyone else out that likes metroid?

I found that once you get used to the controls the Wii is really easy to play. Especially shooter type games

Your assessment of Wii games feeling rushed is because most of them are. The system has been out for less than a year and already there are approx. 100 or more games out for the system. The really great games will start rolling out this fall, so you will have plenty of great software to choose from.

As far as Metroid Prime 3 is concerned, it's fantastic. This game was being developed in conjunction with the Wii hardware, and was delayed in its release until the look and control of the game were spot on. There is no game currently out for the Wii that controls better, or looks better (this will soon change with Mario Galaxy, however). MP3 is easily the best of the Prime series. I played through the other two, fighting at times to keep my interest up, but with Prime 3, well the game was just loads of fun to play!

    You won't be disappointed!

Oh, by the way, get a Wii. You'll have more fun than you realize at first glance, and you'll use it for far more than just playing games!
