Speaker cable question

So I've finished my HT finally. I ran Belden 5T00UP 10 guage through my walls. On the speaker and receiver end I have speaker wall plates. For instance, I have this on my rear wall where my receiver will be: http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=300-618.

So would I benefit from going to a different wire coming out of the wall, or should I stick with the Belden? I've was going to do the Canare DIY with bananas. Either way I'll be using bananas. Or, does mixing wire not matter?

You will get a lot of different opinions about this I am sure.
My experience is that wire is wire is wire.
I would use as short and as fat a cable as possible coming out of the wall personally.
12 or 14 gauge wire from Lowe's or Home Depot will do nicely.

I'm not sure what you're experience is based upon but to say wire is wire is wire is dead wrong. Some 12/14 AWG and others arn't recommended for use in audio applications due to impurity and oxygen content within the copper which results in oxidation and corrosion. It's also likely produce a poor sound to begin with. I would suggest you do abit more research on wire types.

PADZZ...If I were you, I'd stay with the Belden. You could save a little $ using the Belden 12 AWG 5000UE from the wall to your speakers that should work nicely. I just bought 100 ft. of it from bluejeans cable @ .37 cents a foot based on recommendations of some knowledgeable CP members.

    Thank you for correcting me.
Of course, I meant use good quality wire that is oxidation and corosion resistant.
Belden is a quality manufacturer of cable.
37 cents a foot is a good price for quality wire like Belden.

I have and use expensive wire that is claimed to be sonically superior.
I no longer delude myself about it's supposed sonic superiority, but still use it.
    It looks cool.

I am a big fan of Canare 4S11 Cable: (star quad)
I didn't used to believe in wire making a difference, but after trying many flavors of different types I have come to the absolute conclusion that wires can make a big difference if you have a higher end system.
I would run my main spaeaker wires directely from the amp or receiver to the speakers, and not into the walls, and back out. Too many conections. K.I.S.S.
I am running Audio Quest CV4's with DBS, and type 4's.
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks
    Ben

That Belden is really good wire. I think you should just stick with that.

Now it's 85 cents @ BJC. I already got the Canare so that's what I plan on using. I got it for around 85 cents/ft. I guess my question is if mixing speaker wire is a no-no.

It won't matter on a HT receiver, multi channel setup. If you were putting a higher resolution 2 channel music only rig together, I might direct you into a different direction. If you feel the need to make the cabling look good where visible, go ahead. Just use cables large enough to insure good power transfer.
