More big company stupidity.
That's how I ended up in Dallas.
The company I was working for put one in plane, then had to
pay to transfer me down, since they couldn't hire anyone for
a major customer account. "All dollars, and no cents(sense)".
Hiring someone in Dallas was cheaper, but policy won out.
Good luck. You may be able to wait out the hiring freeze.
If not, move on. Sounds like they are in the middle of tough
times."The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." --Thomas Jefferson -
Ya, I lived in that kind of BS for 15 years... Big corporations are evil... I am absolutely sure of that now, 3 years later I’m still trying to deprogram myself. I’m a much better human being now after leaving the “marine corps of the corporate world”. Now... on Friday... I walk over to the lunch room and grab a beer out of the fridge here... If I did that at the old place, dudes in black suits and dark sunglass's would show up , escort you out and change the door codes...Testing

I understand how you feel..Went through two mergers with a large bank, each time there was a hiring freeze which felt like forever. I had since left and am much happier nowReceiver: harmankardon AVR235

It was ok where I'm at now until lately. We were making too much money and got noticed by the big wheels. They decided to "fix us".
Expansion was in order. Now the place is full of execs that want us
old hands out. Profits nose-dived. We are filling up with people from other
groups that aren't stupid, but have no experience and no training budget.
Had a chance to hire a great guy for a customer account in Indiana,
got a warm body contractor instead. And IT"S NOT EVEN CHEAPER THAN
THE GUY WE WANTED! I need two more years with these guys.
Then it's time to look elsewhere.
Screw the hiring freeze. Keep looking. If they don't know if they need you, you won't be working there long anyway."The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." --Thomas Jefferson
