RTI 10's with no sub??
Hey guys, I was looking at the RTi10 speakers, they have two 7" woofers built in, just wondering if I really need a sub if I get these? Seems the built in woofers would do the trick, or am I wrong. (Not looking for earth shattering bass but a good punch would be nice) Any opinions or advice? Thanks!!!!!
ps: room size is about 35' X 15'

Depending on what amp/pre/AVR you have powering them, you may be satisfied. That said, you will benefit from a sub to augment the lowest of frequencies.~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~

For HT, I would highly recommend adding a sub. For 2 channel music you could get away w/out a sub. It really comes down to how important capturing the low end of the frequency spectrum is to you. I'm a bass-aholic, so for me my sub is essential in squeezing out every last bit of low end bass from music and HT. I've even got a 10" sub in my truck because this is so important to me.
You can maximize the Rti10's by giving them an adequate amount of Clean watts, preferably 200 WPC from a seperate amp. I would start off with no sub and see if you are satisfied with HT and music with that.
Welcome to Club Polk. Rti10's do great bass. -
With the size of your room, you'll need at least two kick **** subs.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub
